Sam + Connor | Summer Camping Engagement Session

When Sam reached out and said that her and Connor wanted their session to show them in their element — camping in the woods, relaxing, & making s’mores — I couldn’t say yes quick enough!

As someone whose happy place is being surrounded by trees I was so excited to help them document memories that felt true to them. Then when she followed that up with, “I’d love for our photos to show how we feel about each other, not just how we look” I think my heart may have skipped a beat.

That’s exactly what I love to hear as a photographer.

It takes a lot to allow yourself to let go of insecurities and be vulnerable, especially in front of a camera. But when you go into it with those intentions and we create an atmosphere that allows you to feel safe & comfortable, that is where we can create magic.

So this is your reminder to —
A.) Do whatever feels like YOU during your session! And —
B.) Go into it with an understanding that we are a team. I can only photograph what you show me, but if you allow yourself to take in the moments, I promise we can create some beautiful images that will FEEL like you.
